Ideal for stainless steel grinding – the Klingspor abrasive belt CS 912 Y ACT
The wide belt CS 912 Y ACT engineered by Klingspor is used primarily for surface grinding on stainless steel, but is also a popular choice for grinding steel. It is characterised by its:
- Aggressive abrasive performance
- Self-sharpening abrasive grain
This high-performance abrasive belt also comes with an antistatic coating. It is produced with a variety of grit sizes ranging from coarse to fine.
The top coats: ceramic aluminium oxide with a close coating and synthetic resin bonding
The Klingspor wide belt CS 912 Y ACT is equipped with self-sharpening ceramic aluminium oxide, which provides for the aggressive abrasive performance necessary to shorten the processing time. Hard, yet exceedingly tough, this sharp-edged and pointed abrasive grain possesses a microcrystalline structure. Applied with a close coating, it covers nearly the entire surface of the abrasive belt CS 912 Y ACT. The close coating ensures a high stock removal rate, allowing the user to work with superior effectiveness. The abrasive grain is bonded to the backing with a synthetic resin. Klingspor uses this type of bonding agent for all of their abrasives on account of its high strength and great adhesive force. To ensure the top coat has the same thickness across the entire surface, the application of the synthetic resin is monitored using laser technology.
The backing: robust and tear-resistant cloth made of Y-polyester
Exceptional tear resistance is guaranteed by the cloth made of Y-polyester. Relatively heavy compared to other types of fabric such as cotton backings, this sturdy backing allows the wide belt CS 912 Y ACT to also perform exceedingly when used for such demanding grinding applications as rough stock removal grinding.
